The modern day story teller 当代说书人

Chinese story teller (pingyin: ping shu, shuo shu; 评书,说书) is an old profession that is rumoured to have started in the Eastern Zhou dynasty (770BC – 775BC). Also called “the book teller”, the job requires the teller to talk through a book. Because the Chinese books are written into several chapters called Hui (Chinese: 回), the story teller tells one chapter or several chapters in one session. This profession is considered an invaluable asset for the Chinese culture.
